Jewish Girls Unite Director, Educator and Author
Nechama Laber has been a passionate Jewish educator for girls and women for over twenty five years. She founded the Capital Region Bat Mitzvah Club and Camp in 1998, which led to the opening of the overnight camp Jewish Girls Retreat. Nechama and her husband, Rabbi Avraham Laber, are the parents of 11 children and grandchildren too. They are co-directors of the new Jewish Leadership Campus and Chabad of S. Rensselaer County. They direct year round retreats for girls, women and holidays. Nechama is also an author and published her memoir, Finding Song in Sorrow, in August 2019. She is global director of Jewish Girls Unite, an online community for women and girls and the JGU Press, publishing books and educational resources. She is also currently training to be a certified life coach and is a spiritual mentor to Jewish women and girls of all backgrounds.
